Good Dog Obedience - For dogs over 5 months of age. Basic manners, including sit, stay and recall
are taught, as well as introduction to leash training and appropriate greeting. Dogs completing the
course will have an opportunity to take the Canine Good Citizen Test OR Star Puppy Test.
Better Dog Obedience—For dogs who have completed Good Dog Obedience (or comparable
obedience class). Dogs should have good (but not perfect) basic obedience skills. The goal of
this class is to expand on the basic obedience skills (longer stays, improved recall, walking on
leash and heel work, “Quiet” and “Off”). Students will be asked for input on which behaviors or
commands they would most like to work on. Dogs completing the course will have an opportunity
to take the Canine Good Citizen Test OR Star Puppy Test.
Puppy Kindergarten - For puppies up to 4 months old. Puppies will learn basic socialization,
together with introduction to manners, collars and leash walking. Puppy Kindergarten is not an
obedience class. Puppy Kindergarten is designed to get your puppy appropriately socialized to
other dogs and other people. Common puppy behaviors such as puppy biting, potty training and
destructive chewing will be addressed with appropriate, positive solutions. We will discuss
nutrition, exercise and enrichment for your puppy. Puppies completing this course will be Star
Puppy Tested.
Leash Walking In the Park - We'll work outside at a local park for real life leash training and good
social skills.
