WHY IS A QUICK RELEASE COLLAR THE BEST OPTION FOR DAYCARE?
We have always suggested that your dog wear a quick release (plastic buckle) collar for daycare.  But as of
May 1, 2010, all dogs are
required to wear a quick release collar in order to play in daycare.

Sometimes, when dogs are playing, their mouths can become caught in their friends’ collar.  In a split
second, rambunctious play turns to fear and  aggression when the dogs cannot free themselves.  This can
cause injury to both dogs and will often start a full blown fight in the play area.  So, why not let the dogs play
with no collar at all?  There are several reasons:

First, dogs should have identification and rabies tags on at all times.

Second, if it is necessary to control your dog quickly, using his collar is the easiest way.

If your dog already wears one to daycare, you have nothing to worry about!  However, if your dog comes to
daycare without a collar or in a traditional metal buckle collar, you will need to   purchase a quick release
collar before he can stay.  We will have some reasonably priced ones in stock so that your dog can still play
on that visit, but feel free to purchase one anywhere !
We appreciate your cooperation with this new policy
to keep your dog safe and happy while he is playing with us at Central Park!
